COVID-19: Nigeria Records 601 Fresh Cases, Total now 51,905

After Nigerians erroneously began to feel that the pandemic was gradually fading with the reopening of worship centres, a fresh jolt hit the country on Saturday as 601 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)

Lagos, the country’s COVID-19 epicentre, reported the highest number of cases with 404, a number it hasn’t recorded in a while. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) also posted 37 new infections.

The NCDC reported one new death on Saturday, bringing the country’s death toll to 997; confirmed cases rose to 51,905, out of which 38,767 patients have recovered.
