Akeredolu: Remi Tinubu, Shettima’s wife Visit Widow in Ibadan

First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has condoled with the Family and widow of the late Ondo State Governor, Mrs Betty Akeredolu.
A release by the First Lady’s spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, said that Mrs. Tinubu visited the Ibadan residence of the Akeredolus, Firday, where she eulogised the late Governor, saying that he fought gallantly to hang on to life but had to succumb to the will of God as all humans will at the end of their sojourn on earth.

Akeredolu’s death, Senator Oluremi Tinubu further observed, has robbed that nation of one of its great men.
“He did his best,’ the First Lady continued. “God will be there for you; when God shows up for you, that is what really matters.“
She admonished the widow and the family to take solace in God and trust in Him alone at this trying time.
The First Lady prayed that God should continue to uphold the family.
Responding on behalf of the family, brother to the late Governor, Professor Oluwole Ayodeji Akeredolu, said Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s exit was painful especially at this time but that the family was consoled by the fact that he has gone to rest.
He thanked the First Lady and her entourage for the condolence visit which he described as a great honour.
On the First Lady’s entourage were: the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shetima,; wives of members of the National Assembly; wives of governors of Lagos and Ogun States respectively; and wife of the APC National Chairman; among others.
