Land Scam: Ooni’s brother, Ex-Lagos NUJ Chair, Deji Elumoye, NAWOJ Pres. Ifeyinwa Omowole summoned to court

Brother of the Ooni of Ife, Prince Tunji Ogunwusi, his company, Prime Waterview Holdings, the immediate past chairman of the Lagos Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Deji Elumoye, president of the National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ifeyinwa Omowole, and its national treasurer, Mrs Tosin Odusola, have been summoned by a Lagos High Court to come and say all they know about the bungled housing scheme of the two associations.

Justice K.O. Dawodu of the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere issued the summons over the botched housing project to which over 800 persons subscribed.

The project was to have been executed by Ogunwusi’s firm but five years down the line, subscribers are yet to have any property delivered to them. The situation made 26 of the subscribers head to court to ask for a refund of their money.

Omowole, with the support of Odusola and Elumoye, had initially floated the scheme for female journalists but was later extended to include both males and females; and much later to all interested Nigerians.

According to the court summons dated April 1, 2019, the respondents are to appear before Justice Dawodu on April 10 at 2p.m. “to give reasons for their refusal to submit.”

The matter had been initially fixed for March, but the respondents, through their lawyer, had pleaded for a date in April, assuring the court that their clients would be available.
