The party has begun.
President Muhammadu Buhari, whose mandate was renewed moments ago, arrived the Campaign Headquarters of the All Progressives Party, APC, in Abuja, apparently to respond to the his victory.
He arrived the headquarters at exactly 2a.m.
The event got underway with the ‘compere’ introducing him to party officials as “President-Elect” and his wife, Aisha, as “First Lady-Elect”.
They were joined moments later by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
In a brief speech, he expressed gratitude to God for His mercies.
“I am deeply humbled that you found me worthy of continuing to serve you,” the obviously elated President told the nation, promising to do more. He also solicited the support of every Nigerian to help him continue the work of nation building.”
He was also full of praises for the national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and Director-General of his campaign organisation, and Minister of Transport, Hon. Chubuike Rotimi Amaechi, national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Buhari, among others.
“I will like to a appreciate our party leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the party chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi. I want to sincerely thank all that have contributed to our success. I thank you all,” Buhari said.
