Isa Funtua, Ex-NPAN Boss Buhari’s Kinsman Dies At 77

Business tycoon and Industrialist, Ismaila Isa Funtua, has died at the age of 77.

The Chairman, Bulet International Construction Company, who was also a life patron of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria, died on Monday from an undisclosed illness.

Funtua, who hails from the same Hatsina, same state as President Muhammadu Buhari, is also one of Buhari’s strong allies.

He is typically referred to by critics as a key member of the president’s cabal alongside late Abba Kyari, former Chief of Staff to the President and Mamman Daura, Buhari’s nephew.

The late business tycoon was a Minister of Water Resources in the now defunct Second Republic during the administration of President Shehu Shagari.

He was the founder of the popular Newspaper “The Democrat” back then in 1990, with late Abba Kyari running the affairs.
