Kidnapped Ondo Judge, Doge, Regains Freedom
The kidnapped judge of the Akure judicial division of the Federal High Court, Justice Abdul Doge has regained his freedom from his abductors.
Impeccable source said he was released by the kidnappers around 2am on Saturday morning.
But he is yet to give the account of his travails in the hands of his abductors.
It was also not clear if he lid any ransom before he was released.
Bar and Bench Watch reports that the embattled judge was abducted by unknown gunmen while travelling from Abuja back to his base in Akure on Tuesday October 22, 2019.
After the incident, a source who pleaded anonymity had narrated that Dogo’s vehicle was stopped by the abductors on the Okene-Isua Akoko Expressway and the judge was dragged out of the vehicle and taken away to an unknown destination in the bush.
It was later gathered that a few hours after the abduction, the hoodlums contacted the family of the judge, demanding a N50 million ransom.
The source had said, “The judge is still in the kidnappers’ den because I don’t think the family has been able to pay any ransom to the bandits as at now.”
But in a swift effort to rescue the judge, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu had directed that IG monitoring team under the supervision of ACP Abba Kyari to rescue the judge and fish out the kidnappers.
