The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has named Yahaya Abdullahi as Senate Leader (Kebbi North) and former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia North) as Chief Whip.
Ajayi Boroffice was named as deputy leader (Ondo North) while Sabi Abdullahi (Niger North) got the position of deputy chief whip of the upper legislative chamber.
The emergence of the four lawmakers followed weeks of meetings and negotiations among leaders of APC in Abuja.
The announcement was made on Tuesday morning.
Senate Kalu had wanted to contest for the Presidency of the Senate and later the Deputy but he stepped down for both Lawan and Omo-Agege as analysts say the Chief Whip is a good bargain for the ex-governor
