For so long, President Muhammadu Buhari had refrained from attacking former President Olusegun Obasanjo, his senior in the army. Even when Obasanjo tried to fatally injure him through his acerbic letters, the president kept mum.
But not anymore. In Akure the capital of Ondo State, Buhari delivered a sucker punch to the chin of his former boss when he declared that he was only seeking a second term and not a third as some people did.
The President was addressing the Ondo State Council of Obas when he delivered the punch.
His exact words: “We have just finished one term and are seeking a second one. After that, the constitution doesn’t permit any more.
“There are some who tried looking for more but they did not succeed. We should learn from their mistakes.”
