Some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have visited former president, Goodluck Jonathan, at his residence in Otueke in Bayelsa state. Governor Muhammadu Badaru of Jigawa state and Senator Ita Enang, as well as other APC party leaders, were said to have visited the Jonathans on Sunday evening.
Badaru who served as the chairman APC campaign organisation of the Bayelsa governorship election and other party members were seen sharing warm greetings with the former president in some photos shared on social media by a twitter user, Ileowo Kikiowo.
The visit of the APC leaders to Jonathan comes amid speculation that the former president worked to support the governorship bid of the APC candidate, David Lyon, following a disagreement with the outgoing Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson.
However, the former president has denied the speculation that he worked against his party, the PDP, in the Bayelsa governorship election.
