The monthly allowance for members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has been increased to N33,000.
The Director-General of scheme, Shuaibu Ibrahim, made this known on Wednesday while speaking with corps members in Bauchi, Bauchi State.
He promised that the payment of the allowance would start as soon as money was made available.
He told corps members that provision had been made for the increase in the 2020 budget by the federal government.
The director-general warned corps members against negative use of the social media.
He also urged them to be security conscious, while advising them against unauthorized journeys and night trips
