Former Vice President, also the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential vote, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has announced that one of his sons has tested positive for dread coronavirus or COVID-19.
Atiku made the announcement on his twitter handle on Sunday but never disclosed the victim’s identity.
“My son has tested positive to coronavirus,” Atiku said in the tweet.
“@NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management.”
Also on Sunday, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC announced that Nigeria’s cases of coronavirus pandemic had climbed to 30 after three Nigerians tested positive.
“Three new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria,” the NCDC had disclosed on Sunday.
“2 cases are returning travellers and 1 is a contact of a confirmed case.”
With these new cases, Lagos now top the chart with 22 cases.
But Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu assured residents that there was no cause to panic as the confirmation of the new cases was an indication that the system is working.
