A relentless promoter of Igbo films in Nollywood, the late Chizoba, among others, played pioneering roles in ‘Living in Bondage,’ ‘Checkmate,’ ‘Scandals’ among others.

On his part, the late Yomi Obileye, elder brother of  Taiwo Obileye, broadcaster-cum-actor, would be remembered for his roles in.Tade Ogidan’s 1997 film ‘Hostages’ as well as the soap opera ‘Palace’.

Obileye acted alongside other veteran Nollywood stars like Liz Benson, Jide Kosoko, Antar Laniyan, Dayo Adeneye, Jide Alabi, and Tunji Bamishigbin.

He also starred in “Head Gone” in which he played the character Dr. Smith. A comedy, “Head Gone” is a reflection of the globally accepted truism that a thin line separates sanity and insanity.

The death of Chizoba Woye and Yomi Obileye has swelled the number of actors that have passed in 2020. This year alone, the Nigerian film industry has lost stars like Pa Kasumu, Frank Dallas, Jennifer Omole and Rasheed Abu, just to mention a few.
