Abuja High Court Clears Senator Adeleke of Examination Charges

Former governorship candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party umbrella in Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has been cleared of charges of examination malpractice, by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

He was discharged on Friday by a ruling from Justice Inyang Ekwo.

The prosecuting counsel in Simon Lough informed the court that they had finalised removing Adeleke from the case, considering his being out of the country and had not been available for any court sittings on the matter.

The prosecutors, however, still went on to arraign in court on Friday, four others said to have helped Adeleke commit the exam fraud.

Dr Alex Izinyon (SAN), standing in as the defence lawyer, agreed to the removal of Adeleke’s name from the case, urging the court to grant a consequential order showing that the former senator was discharged and acquitted.
