Amid political realignments ahead of 2023, former senator representing Adamawa Central District, Senator Abdul’ Aziz Nyako, has denied claims that he was awarded contracts by the  Fintiri-led Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, government to supply patrol Toyota Hilux vehicles, as it is being rumoured in the state.

In the recent times, there were hullabaloos in Adamawa political circles that the former senator has benefited in the ruling the PDP government in the state.

Senator Nyako, a former governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 elections, said he was not given any contract by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Reacting on the purported Toyota Hilux contract, Senator Nyako , who spoke through his aide Aliyu Sa’ad,  said that, ‘’ Let it be on record that Senator Abdul-Aziz Nyako has never executed any contract with the Adamawa State Government at any time and to be specific, he has not supplied any Toyota Hilux to the Fintiri Administration.

‘’Anybody within or outside the Government that has any evidence to the contrary is hereby challenged to make it public.

The Crest recalls that Nyako had, on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, while reacting to stories about a purported ‘’mass defection’’ of ADC members, blasted the state PDP and the Fintiri government, describing the  said “defection” as a farce created by “a non-performing desperado, when the government and the PDP ought to have joined citizens in mourning the consequences of insecurity.’’

In his official Facebook handle, Sen. Nyako stated:  “They created a storm in a tea cup with nothing at stake and blew it out of proportion for propaganda purposes by claiming that there have been mass defections from the ADC to the PDP today.”
