Aisha Buhari Launches Biography Tomorrow; Book Gives a Glimpse of Life in Aso Rock

National Leader of the AllmProgressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, will, tomorrow, April 8, 2021, preside over the public presentation of the biography of the First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Aisha Buhari.

The epochal event starts at 9a.m. at the Conference Center of the State House, Abuja.

A product of collaboration between the Office of the First Lady and Women and National Development (WAND), a gender-based NGO, the book is titled: Aisha Buhari: Being Different. 

Authored by Hajo Sani, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Women Affairs and Administration, the book, according to State House insiders, may give a glimpse of the First Lady’s life in the Villa as well as the intrigues that make the seat of power thick.

Also expected at the presentation is Africa’s richest black woman, Mrs. Folorunso Alakija, who is billed to be the Special Guest of Honour. The book will be reviewed by Prof. Fatai Aremu of National Institue of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, near Jos. She will be supported by other eminent Nigerians.

The afternoon session, according to the organisers, will startat 2p.m. and will feature a Summit on First Ladyship, with the theme: Emerging Trends in the Role of the First Lady in National Development.

The Summit is targeted at State First Ladies and gender-focused institutions, with Erelu Bisi Fayemi, First Lady of Ekiti State, as Keynote Speaker, and Dr. Betsy Obaseki, First Lady of Edo State, as session Chair.

The event, which will be moderated by Kachi Okezie Esq. is expected to discuss the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with the office of the First Lady.
