Finally an end has come to the lingering crisis in choosing a Vice Chancellor for the Lagos State University, LASU as Prof (Mrs) Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello has been named the ninth substantive Vice Chancellor.
The Professor of Medicine had served as Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution before her elevation.
The inconsistency on the part of the newly constituted seven-man joint senate and governing council selection committee for the 9th substantive vice-chancellor contributed immensely to the unending crisis that has, for many months, continued to trail the process.
Many, who had thought the appointment of a new governing council chairman, David Sunmoni, would address the controversies surrounding the selection process, were at a point disappointed.
