Veteran Nigerian sports journalist, Kunle Solaja, left Abuja for Morocco, Monday, having been invited to the Kingdom for a sports facilities advocacy tour.
The visit is at the invitation of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Nigeria, His Excellency Moha Ou Ali Tagma, who has sent a message to the journalist for accepting the invitation.
The visit by Kunle Solaja, popularly known in the sporting world as KS, also coincides with the country’s hosting of the FIFA Club World Cup to which Solaja is also accredited.
The message reads: “Good afternoon Sir. I thank you for accepting our invitation. Hope you will envoy your trip and your stay. Ambassador of Morocco.”
The Crest recalls that Solaja was, at the last World Cup in Qatar, honoured for his long time commitment to the global soccer fiesta which he has covered for an African record of nine times.
Morocco made the best ever African performance at the World Cup in Qatar where the North African country got to the semi finals. The country is one of the six jostling to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations which was withdrawn from Guinea.
Morocco has been a sporting destination in Africa and is hoping to add the 2025 Afcon to the list of hosted events.
