Tinubu Mourns Veteran Journalist, Sidi Ali

President Bola Tinubu has commended the enormous contributions of Alhaji Sidi Ali, a veteran journalist and former Second Republic member of the House of Representatives, who passed away last Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the age of 86.

Paying condolences to his family, the President extolled Hon. Ali’s contributions Ali to the country’s development and democratic process, and affirmed that the late former lawmakers role as a journalist and information manager helped Nigeria at a critical time in the life of the nation.

The President also commiserated with the associates of Second Republic legislator and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a press statement, the Special Adviser to the President on Meedia and Publicity, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, recalled that the “late statesman was a prolific writer, publishing 19 books and numerous articles. Some of his notable works include, ‘A Trip to Timbuktu’ (1965); ‘Corruption in High Society’, and ‘The Power of Power on Muhammad Ribadu, Former Defence Minister’ (1982).

“The President prayed for Allah’s mercy on the soul of the departed while condoling with the government and people of Kano State over the loss.”
