Regina Daniel’s Brother Charged for Conspiracy, Assault, Theft

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Friday, announced that it has charged Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, before an Abuja court for alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.
Josephine Adeh, a Superintendent of Police, SP, and FCT Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT Police Command, revealed this in a press statement on Friday, noting that the development followed a petition received by the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, against Ojeogwu and three others.
In the statement, SP Adeh said: “On 28th October 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against one Mr Samuel Ojeogwu and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.”
According to the police spokesperson, Ojeogwu had failed to honour several police invitations to clarify all he knows about the matter. Consequently, he was arrested in Lagos and taken to Abuja for further investigation.
“Upon receipt of the petition,” Adeh continued, several invitations were extended to Mr Samuel Ojeogwu by the Metro Area Command for questioning, which were not honoured. Mr Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation.”
“Upon the conclusion of investigations, the suspect was on the 6th of November 2025 charged in court for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft. He has been remanded by the court pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions,” the police spokesperson added.
Adeh reaffirmed the command’s commitment to professionalism and respect for the law, saying: “The FCT Police Command remains committed to professional policing, due process, and the rule of law.”
Ojeogwu’s arrest and arraignment came amid growing family tension surrounding Regina Daniels, who recently broke down in a viral video over her brother’s detention.
In the clip, she wept uncontrollably, saying, “I will go back,” while expressing pain over her family’s struggles.
Her outburst followed weeks of reports about marital troubles with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, whom she accused of domestic violence in an earlier social media post.
Nwoko, however, denied the allegations, blaming her behaviour on alleged drug and alcohol abuse. He stated that Regina’s “current battle with substance abuse” had caused strain in their marriage and insisted she undergo rehabilitation.
Amid the public exchanges, Regina celebrated the reconciliation of her estranged parents, noting that her mother and father, who had been apart for years, reunited in the wake of her personal and family crisis, especially her brother’s arrest.
