Kogi Guber Poll: Bello Appoints New Chief of Staff, As Onoja Resigns

Sequel to his nomination as running mate to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State in the November 16, 2019 gubernatorial poll, Chief Edward David Onoja has resigned his appointment as Chief of Staff to the governor.

Consequently, Governor Bello has appointed Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu, a pharmacist, in his stead.

A statement issued, Wednesday, by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Onogwu Muhammed, also revealed that Dr Gabriel Ottah has emerged the new Director General in charge of Protocol.

The statement declared: “Consequent upon the resignation of former Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Chief Edward David Onoja, His Excellency, Yahaya Bello, has approved the appointment of Pharmacist Jamiu Abdulkareem Asuku as Chief of Staff.

“In a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr (Mrs) Folashade Arike Ayoade, PhD, the Governor also approved the appointment of Dr Gabriel Ottah as Director General (Protocol).

“Dr Ayoade said these appointments take effect from 14 October 2019.

“Chief Edward Onoja is the Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the November 16 Governorship election in Kogi State.

“Until their appointments, Pharm Jamiu Abdulkareem Asuku was the Director-General, Protocol while Dr Gabriel Ottah was the Head of Department, Mass Communication, Kogi State University, Anyigba.”
