300 Stranded Nigerians to be Evacuated from India Today

It is official. The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, will, any moment from now, fly home 300 Nigerians stranded in India.

This, according to a report in The Guardian, may take place between today, December 15, 2022, and Friday, the 16th, through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The development which was confirmed to The Guardian through NEMA’s, Head of Press Unit, Mr. Manzo Ezekiel, was in compliance with the recent approval by President Muhammadu Buhari for the evacuation of stranded Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India.

According to Ezekiel, an advanced team comprising of NEMA staff members and other stakeholders are already in India profiling the returnees who are reportedly assembled at the Nigerian High Commission in New Delhi.

The aircraft conveying the Nigerian returnees from India, according to the NEMA’s spokesman, will leave India today.

The returnees, he further revealed, will be received at the  Hajj Operations Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
